The 2022 year saw a return to deeper levels of competitive Race Walking all over the USA. After 2 years of diminished results from COVID, it looks like our event has rebounded well. Congratulations go directly to the coaches who were able to reinvigorate the programs which are the life-blood of the event.
With that, it’s well past time to announce our 2022 winners, something we usually do in the early Fall.
Ryan Allen – Kingsway HS, NJ
Ryan follows in the footsteps of his brother Sam, a 2x winner in 2019 & 2020, in becoming the 2022 Athlete of the Year. His overall dominance during both seasons was complete, holding the top performance in 7 of the 8 distance lists during his senior year.
Talia Green – Oakland, CA
Talia’s year was one of major improvements which put her on par with the best in the US in all events. Her consistency, especially in the longer races, and performances wearing the Team USA uniform are what put her over the top of an exceptionally talent group of women in 2022.
